We will continue our discussion of Opportunity this week during our lessons. We’ll be talking together about how Opportunity also involves commitment on our part. Our in-class discussion topic for this week follows below:
“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more.” — Anthony Robbins (Motivational Speaker)
Your have the opportunity to take martial arts lessons. This opportunity takes a commitment from you as a student. It also takes a commitment from your parents or guardians. They give up their time to get you to your lessons, and pay for your tuition. For all of us who take martial arts lessons, including your instructors, this opportunity is a great privilege. We have the responsibility to come to our lessons, and do our very best when we are in class. As martial arts students, we also have the opportunity to take what we learn, like motivation, determination, and respect, and use it creatively in other situations — like when you are at school, or with your family and friends.
1) How do you think you can use what you learn in your martial arts lessons?
2) What is something you are looking forward to doing in karate?
3) Is learning something new an opportunity?
Please share your answers to these questions, and your thoughts about opportunity, with our school community by using the form below.
