Board Breaking to Fill Cupboards: Monday, November 12

We will be hosting a special Board Breaking to Fill Cupboards Black Belt Community Service Project on the afternoon of Monday, November 12.  This has been organized by Mr. Evan Saulnier, as one of the parts of his promotion exam for 1st Dan.

We will host a Board Breaking Workshop in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank.  This workshop is open to Honors students ages 6 and older.  Fundamentals students ages 6 and older will also be allowed to participate.  With our Fundamentals students, we will carefully go over board breaking basics, and then the student will have the option of trying their first board break.  No one will be required to attempt a break if they don’t feel ready for this.

This workshop will begin at 5:30pm, and will last for about 1 hour.  We will have a representative from Second Harvest with us to make a short presentation about their work.

If you wish to participate, we would ask that you please provide a donation in support of the Second Harvest Food Bank.  You can donate a non-perishable food item — monetary donations are also welcome.  Mr. Saulnier has set out a bin at the school where you can leave donated items.  Please follow this link to download your information flyer:  Board Breaking to Fill Cupboards November 12.

Participation will count for 2 Class Credits for the upcoming Winter Term.  Please register at the school if you plan to participate, or get in touch by email if you will be joining us.
