We have a special Board Breaking & Puppies Black Belt Community Service Project coming up on Friday, August 4. This has been organized by Mr. Tyler Shubzda, as on of the parts of his promotion exam for 1st Dan.
We will host a set of two Board Breaking Workshops in support of the Young-Williams Animal Shelter. These workshops are open to Honors Students. As a special, “One Time Only” exception, Fundamentals students will also be allowed to participate. With our Fundamentals students, we will carefully go over board breaking basics, and then the student will have the option of trying their first board break. No one will be required to attempt a break if they don’t feel ready for this.
Our schedule for Friday afternoon will be as follows:
3:30pm — Special Guest Dog Presentation by Young-Williams
4:00pm — Junior Honors and Fundamentals students (ages 6-8)
4:45pm — Pre-Teen, Teen & Adult Honors and Fundamentals students (ages 9 & older)
If you wish to participate, we would ask that your please provide a donation in support of the Young-Williams Animal Shelter. You can donate food or other supplies needed for the shelter — monetary donations are also welcome. Mr. Shubzda has set out a bin at the school where you can leave donated items. You’ll find the list of donated items above.
Participation will count for 2 Class Credits. Please register at the school if you plan to participate, or get in touch by email if you are out of town on vacation, but will be attending.
