We will wrap up our discussion topic Inspirationduring this week (August 25). We’ll be talking about how the people we choose to be around us can inspire us during our lessons this week. Our in-class discussion lesson for this week follows below:
“Only surround yourself with people who will lift you higher.” — Oprah Winfrey (entertainer)
No matter how old we may be, we want to be around people who are good in character, have good values, and are willing to share so that we can learn more. Think about the people in your life right now. Your teachers at school, your parents, your friends, your instructors and fellow students in karate — are they people who will help to lift you higher? The good people around us inspire us to be like them — but negative people can have a negative influence on us as well. We all need to think carefully, and be very selective, about the people we hang around with.
1) Who are the people in your life who help to lift you higher?
2) How do you pick someone to be your friend?
3) Who is somebody you admire? Do they inspire you?
Please share your answers to these questions, and your thoughts about Inspiration, with our school community by using the form below.
