Creativity, week 2

We will continue to discuss Creativity together during our lessons this week.  We’ll be talking together about how Creativity and curiosity lead us to try new things.  Our in-class discussion lesson for this week follows below:

“Around here, we don’t look backwards for very long.  We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we are curious … and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” — Walt Disney (Artist, Animator, Movie Maker)

Disney parks are just one of the many places you can visit to see the amazing things that can be created when people let their creativity flow.  From beautiful gardens to amazing architecture, to gorgeous paintings and incredible books — people around the world make and do wonderfully creative things every day.  How often do you think these artists and writers make a mistake and have to start over?  Probably quite often.  But as time goes on, they begin to ask “What if?”  What if I tried something different next time?  Through this curiosity, they learn how to create and express themselves.  They figure out how to move forward, instead of constantly looking back at mistakes.

Discussion Questions:

1)  Do you think you are a creative person?

2)  What is something creative that you do?

3)  What is something creative that you would like to learn to do?

Please share your answers to these questions, and your thoughts about Creativity, with our school community by using the form below.
