We will have a set of special Board Breaking & Puppies Workshops, a Black Belt Community Service Project, on the afternoon of Sunday, October 16.
Ms. Zoe Doubrley, the organizer of this project, will be leading a set of two Board Breaking Workshops in support of our local Humane Society. These workshops are open to Honors Students. As a special, “One Time Only” exception, Fundamentals Students will also be allowed to participate. With our Fundamentals students, we will carefully go over board breaking basics, and then the student will have the option of trying their first board break. No one will be required to attempt a break if they don’t feel ready for this.
The workshops will meet on the following schedule:
2:00pm — Junior Honors and Fundamentals students (ages 6-8)
3:00pm — Pre-Teen, Teen & Adult Honors and Fundamentals students (ages 9 and older)
A representative of the Humane Society will also be joining us, along with some small furry animals, to let us know more about their work.
If you wish to participate, we would ask that you please provide a donation in support of the Humane Society. You can donate food or other supplies needed for the Humane Society shelter — monetary donations are also welcome. Ms. Doubrley has set out a bin at the school where you can leave donated items. Please follow this link for a list of requested items: humane_society_needs_list.
Participation will count for 2 Class Credits. Please register at the school if you plan to participate, or get in touch by e-mail if you are out of town for the Fall Break, but will be attending. You can download your information flyer here: board_breaking_workshop_flyer.
See you there!
