We have the Board Breaking for the Sharing Shop Black Belt Community Service Project coming up on the morning of Saturday, January 13. This has been organized by Mr. Luke McCluskey, as one of the parts of his promotion exam for 1st Dan.
We will host a set of three Board Breaking Workshops in support of the Sharing Shop, a ministry to the homeless. These workshops are open to Honors students. As a special exception, Fundamentals students will also be allowed to participate. With our Fundamentals students, we will carefully go over board breaking basics, and then the student will have the option of trying to break their first board. No one will be required to attempt a break if they don’t feel ready for this.
The workshops will meet on the following schedule:
10:00am — Experienced breakers (Honors students) ages 6-12.
11:00am — Novice breakers (Fundamentals students) ages 6-12.
12:00 Noon — Teen & Adult Honors and Fundamentals students (ages 13 and older)
If you wish to participate, we would ask that you please provide a donation in support of the Sharing Shop. You can donate supplies needed for the Sharing Shop — monetary donations are also welcome. Mr. McCluskey has set out a bin at the school where you can leave donated items. Please follow this link for a list of the requested items: Sharing Shop Flyer
Participation will count for 2 Class Credits. Please register at the school if you plan to participate. You can download your information flyer here: Sharing Shop information flyer January 2018
We look forward to seeing you there!
