Excellence, week 2

We will continue our discussion of Excellence during our lessons together this week by considering how to pursue Excellence.  Our in-class discussion lesson follows below:

“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.” — Vince Lombardi (Football Coach)

We can all strive for excellence.  Excellence, put simply, is doing the very best we can.  Excellence is pushing ourselves to become our very best at what we want to do.  In martial arts class, we pursue excellence by watching closely, listening carefully, and always trying our best.  In school, we pursue excellence by completing our homework assignments and paying close attention to our teachers.  At home, we can pursue excellence by being respectful, and finding ways to help out.  We pursue excellence by consistently making improvements in the things we do.

1)  What is something you excel at?

2)  What is something you would like to be able to do better?

3)  How would you go about doing that?

Please share your answers to these questions, and your thoughts about Excellence, with our school community by using the form below.
