Determination, week 4

During our lessons this week, we will talk about some of the several different benefits we get from our habit of Determination.  Our in-class discussion lesson for this week follows below:

“Stop looking for your purpose…be it!” — Dr. Wayne Dyer (teacher, author and philosopher)

We benefit from our determination in a variety of ways.  One of the biggest benefits is that we achieve what we set out to do.  Also, the people around us notice our determination in action.  We all admire and respect someone we know who is steadfast and determined to achieve their goals.  We also have the personal satisfaction of accomplishing a goal we have set out to achieve, like earning our Black Belt.  Think about how that will feel.  If we can visualize it and imagine it, we can be determined and take action to accomplish it.  Putting in hard work and staying determined is what will ultimately put your Black Belt around your waist.

Discussion Questions:

  1.  Who is someone you know that you think has determination?  Why?
  2. Why do you think someone with determination is looked on positively by the people around them?
  3.  Can you imagine how it would feel to earn your Black Belt?

Please share your answers to these questions, and your thoughts about Determination, with our school community by using the form below.
